Flame of Truth reaches TCV – July 25th: In the midst of first term examination the students and staff of TCV rushed excitedly to receive the Flame of Truth that journeyed from Leh Ladakh and finally reached Dharamshala today on the 25th July. Passing though thousands of hands by making the presence of flame glow with the truth of Tibet the relay will continue for many months until the Human Right Day on December 10th. The children and the staff in the Village had a very meaningful reception highlighting the current precarious and explosive situation in Tibet. The welfare Officer Mr. Sonam Dorjee who is a former student of the Tibetan Children’s Village officially handed over the Flame to our president Mr. Tsewang Yeshi. Despite being in the midst of examination we made our presence felt physically and emotionally involved in the reception of the flame. A minute’s silence and prayer for the martyrs culminated with crescendo of the emotionally charged song “We walk back to Tibet”. This was indeed a befitting song by our young toddlers. After the formal ceremony, the Flame of Truth was relayed ceremoniously to the Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts by our school captains, Village director and the headmasters.
