The International Yoga Day ( June 21, 2015 )
The UNO has declared 21st June as the International Yoga Day and will be celebrated throughout the world.
The Central Board of Secondary Education, under the behest of the Ministry of AYUSH, Govt. of India, has directed all its affiliated schools in India to organize a Yoga session in the school on 21 June, 2015 to mark the day.
To prepare students for the Day, a yoga training session was introduced in the school a week ahead wherein nearly 500 students were taught and trained to perform pranayam and asanas by our qualified and experienced Physical Teachers, Mr. Lobsang Norbu, Mr. Karma Dorjee and Mr. Tsering Wangyal from 5.15 am to 6.00 am every day:
- Celebration of the Worlds Yoga Day
Complying with the CBSE direction, Tibetan Children Village School, Dharamshala Cantt (H.P.) observed the International Yoga Day on 21st June in the school. Nearly 500 students and 20 teachers participated in the celebration.
The students and teachers assembled on the ground at 7.30 am. The programme began with an introductory address by the school Principal, Mr. Namdol Tashi.
It was was followed by the performance by students the following Pranayams and Asanas under the guidance and supervision of the PETs and teachers:
- Bastrika Pranayam
- Anuloma Viloma
- Bhamari Pranayam
- Surya Namaskar
- Bhujanga Asana
The Programme concluded with a talk by the Physical Teacher, Mr. Lobsang Norbu, on the benefits of Yoga practice at 8.30 am.
