Staff day – 5th September

Staff day – 5th September

Since 1962, 5th September is celebrated as TEACHERS’ day throughout India to commemorate the birthday of Dr. Sarveppali Radhakhrishnan, but in TCV because of our unique setup, we celebrate this day as STAFF DAY. For the students’ council this is indeed their battlefield to test their logistic, leadership and planning capabilities. This year under the able incumbent leadership of school captain master Tenzin Drukda and Miss Younga the Staff Day was celebrated with fun and frolic. After the formal introductory speeches by the students council selected song and dance items were presented to the staff. We moved over to the main basketball ground after the morning function and were engaged in various entertaining fun games which everyone enjoyed. For lunch every one of us were ushered in Dekyi Tsering auditorium. As we entered all of us were spellbound with very inviting decorations and setups. This is for the first time that we had candle light luncheon with all the glow of the sunlight ward off with thick decorative curtains and candle lit tables. All of us enjoyed the treat of delicious food and professional service.

In the evening we were again entertained with series of dance items and a movie entitled   “CHOEMEY” was screened specially for staff as a premium show. This movie was directed and scripted by Master Sonam Topgyal. For a student to come out with his debut directorial movie was in fact a very encouraging achievement.

Thank you and Thukjeche for the wonderful day.
