Senior Section Spelling Bee Contest 2017

Spelling Bee contest is one of the most popular and much awaited literary activities for class VI to VIII. It has now become an annual feature in our school calendar. As stipulated in the school diary, it kicked off on 25 Aug 2017 at Herman Gmainer Hall amidst much anticipation and hectic preparation. We saw lot of enthusiasm and mass involvement of students over a period of almost five weeks at a stretch with successive preliminary round of eliminations. Despite the busy school schedules and last minute engagements, all the top ten super spellers did exceptionally well in the grand finale of the Top Ten Super Speller  Spelling Bee Competition 2017. Their feedback on Spelling Bee Contest speaks highly about their keen interest and enrichment of English vocabularies. After nerve wrecking and neck to neck competition amongst the contestant during the grand finale, Miss Tenzin Choeney from Class VII D emerged as the Champion of Spelling Bee Contest 2017. She won a coveted trophy, a gift hamper, a certificate and a traditional white scarf from the Chief Guest, Mrs.  Nawang Lhamo, the Principal of our school. She stole the whole show by coming out with the right spelling of championship word ‘ CURMUDGEON’  followed by standing ovation from all the guest , teachers and the students on the floor. The objective behind this contest is not only to enrich their English vocabularies and spelling but to familiarize their correct usage, pronunciation, origin and their part of speech. Although the Spelling Bee Contest is over but the mini spelling test on weekly basis will go on till to the last days of the academic session 2017 to achieve firm ground on their English spellings and their proper usage.
